How To: Secure a loading ramp to my vehicle. (Ramp Vulnerability)

Once you have determined the proper ramp(s) for your specific needs, you now must know how to use them safely. Be sure that any ramp you purchase is accompanied with some sort of securing mechanism. If it does not you may want to be skeptical of the products function.

As you are loading and unloading your machinery, non secured ramps will tend to pull away from the stationary object it is resting on. As you may have come to the conclusion, if this happens no outcome is good. Serious injury and or damage may occur and that will definitely put a damper on any trip you're going on. With any portable ramp a means of fixing it securely to your truck, trailer, etc. is a must, you have got to have quite a set on you if you load with out any. Whether it is a strap, cable, or pins they are essential.

Personally I prefer the strap; it is a simple and effective way to safely "load your load" without tools. With the assistance of a ramp securing device, your loading will be safe, efficient and greatly reduce an unfortunate event from occurring.

Bottom line, follow directions thoroughly and don't hesitate to call the manufacturer (vendor) if you have any questions on any product. Good companies will always take the time to make sure you are satisfied and are using the product properly.

Step 1: Locate second rung & feed hook end of strap through looped end over center rail of ramp.	Step 2: Cinch the loop end of the strap so that it is tight to the main rail of the ramp.	Step 3: Locate a secure spot to attach the hook end of the strap to underside of vehicle (I.E. Bumper, Receiver Hitch).	Step 4: Pull loose end of strap until strap is tight & ramp is secure. You are now ready to SLOWLY load your machinery!
Step 1: Place lip of ramp on Tailgate or Trailer. Loosen 5/16" nuts on the U-Bolt & adjust length of cable to accommodate desired length to reach a bumper, hitch, etc...	Step 2: Take S-Hook end of cable & place it to your bumpter or receiver hitch.	Step 3: Make sure lip of ramp is completely on tailgate or trailer. Pull the cable tight so that there is no slack in the cable. Now tighten the 5/16" nuts SECURELY! You are now ready to SLOWLY load your machinery.	NOTE: All ramps need to be secured to the vehicle or trailer when being used! Make sure to follow the instructions as displayed on this page to verify the ramps are properly secured!
