I have a Mongoose xc 29 which is a rather large mountain bike and even thought the lower frame has a different geometry for the holder but It fits the bike perfectly. I really like the heavy duty of this holder. I would recommend this to any one that has a bike.
Product was just what I was looking for, priced right, simple to assemble, delivered on time. Customer service team was exceptional.
Strong enough to hold my 26 pound hybrid bike. Unfortunately, the bar clip was not wide enough to wrap around my bottom bar so I had to tie it on. If you have a bottle cage you will have to remove it. Still, this is functional and I completed my adjustments. No detailed set up instructions provided but a glance at the pics on the website makes everything clear.
Hey Folks, this is a no brainer! After searching the internet for a repair stand and experiencing sticker shock, I thought I would have to build my own. You can't buy the materials to build your own for less than the cost of this repair stand from Discount Ramps. It took less than 20 minutes to put together. I could not be happier. If you're a cyclist who needs to impress others with high end name brand equipment, then don't buy it. But if you want to get your bike off the ground so you can work on it, this is the one. It is more than adequate for the amount of times I will use this in a year.
I had moderate expectations because the price seemed very low but was extremely pleased with the quality and design. This stand could easily command a $100 price and is a steal at $25. Assembly was simple and mounting the bike is a snap. The only negative in my situation was the size of the clamps to hold the front of the frame was not large enough to fit around my bike's frame. I used a zip tie to secure it and it's working out fine.
The stand took about 15 minutes to assemble with the 2 Allen wrenches, included. Very sturdy and compact, it fits in my garage corner nicely. I tried mounting both bikes, hybrids, and discovered that I needed to remove the water cages first... Aha! The Allen wrenches which were included with the stand did the trick! I am very pleased - this is a great stand for great value.
The bike rack definitely holds the bike in place well and the height is easy to adjust. It was very easy to assemble although I had to locate the full instructions online since the full thing was not in the package. Just in case you have the same problem, you can find the full instructions in PDF form here: http://cdnll.discountramps.com/images/art/bikeStand2Instructions.pdf
I am just getting started with personal bike maintenance. I have changed flats, oiled chains, not never any precision tuning. This stand is perfect. Very sturdy and well balanced with a wide variety of frams. I highly recommend this to any do it yourselfer. Well packaged and arrived quickly. Superb value.
I wouldn't use this in a commercial setting, but it is great for what I bought it for, i.e. use in my home for occasional service on my new bike.
I needed something to get my bike up to "working height", so I don't have to aggravate my bad back working off the floor. This rack does exactly what I wanted. It gets things up to a good height, and allows me to work on it easily, while providing a (rather small, but handy) tool tray, as well.
I had a minor problem with mine, one of the plastic brackets was split by someone overtightening the screw when assembling it at the factory. I called, emailed a picture of what I needed replaced, and a replacement part arrived in a couple of days. You can't expect everything to be perfect, but when it's not, if a company handles the issue this way, you really can't ask for more than this.
I'll use this company in the future for any related purchases.
As indicated in the description, I was pleased with the stand that arrived. Sturdy enough to perform work on all the bikes we own and easy enough to store away when not in use! Order was placed promptly and easily and arrived within the week. Very pleased with discountramps.com
I really like the BikeStand , it helps me help my son work on his bike and keep it up an going, for his future bike rides on his own or with his Boy Scout Troop.
