The 3-bike rack with 1-bike extension - carries up to 4 bikes
The bike carrier is exactly what we need as we are a family of three but occasionally have a guest making it necessary to transport four bikes. The carrier is sturdy and exhibits very good craftsmanship. The only point of contention, and it was minor, is that the instructions were difficult to read (poor print quality), and were not very helpful. It proved easier to simply look at photos of the carrier online and assemble it without referring to the instruction sheet.

We bought the Apex Hitch Bike rack because we had 4 bikes to haul from Iowa to South Dakota and back, and wanted something solid that we weren't going to have to worry about. This rack is solid, sturdy, easy to use and holds each bike exactly where we put it. (Unlike another brand for the same price, that allowed the bikes to move at highway speeds.) This is a great product at a great price and we would recommend it to anyone with similar needs.

I recently completed a trip to Harper Ferry, WV with the Bike carrier on my Honda Ridgline Hitch. It performed very well and was quiet and strong. The strap provided was perfect in securing the wheels and strong enough not to slip. Assembly was easy and instruction were good. I recommend this model for families with 4 bicycles to transport.

I was searching for an affordable 4 bike rack for a trip to the coast so we could all take our bikes. I'm always a little leery of something that seems too cheap to be legit. Well this rack is rock solid. As someone else noted, this thing is made of very sturdy steel construction of both the hitch mount, and the tubing. I was worried that 4 bikes would be a lot of weight but not a problem at all. Couple of things to note, the bikes will be fairly tight together, so what I had to do was loosen the handle bars on each bike to swivel them in line with the frames, then also I removed the pedals because the sizes varied and the pedals were either going to scrape up the frame of another bike or get in the spokes of another (this was a road trip so doing this made sense). I did make one mod that is dependent on your vehicle. I have a pickup and with all the bikes loaded my tail lights were somewhat obscured. I bought a 3rd brake light (kind that mounts in your hitch receiver when not using the hitch) from Harbor Freight that fit perfectly on the end cap, then drilled a hole in the 4th bike tube extension and tie wrapped it on the end. This way I was sure someone would see my brake lights. The straps are very sturdy, hopefully are replaceable if anything happens to them. All in all a great bike rack. Shipping was good, showed up 3 days after ordering from Minnesota to Texas.

This is an amazingly sturdy and well-designed bike rack. Perfect fitment of parts, easy to assemble and install with included tools. Threaded hitch bolt ensures a tight, wobble-free fit to hitch. Rubberized cradles for bikes are awesome and more supportive than competitors. Glad we bought this--by far the best value on the market!

I did a lot of Internet research on hitch mounted bike racks, and this is the one I decided on. The quality of the rack far exceeds the dollar amount placed on it. The frame is made of solid tubular steel making it a power house of strength an durability. Assembly and installation was made very simple with the assistance of another person. The rack weighs close to 30 pounds so a helper is a good idea but manageable for one person. The holes for the bolts, pins, etc are precision cut for your hitch receiver making the task a lot easier when installing and removing the rack. There's no fumbling around or forcing bolts/pins into the holes. Everything works as it should. The slots for the bicycles are well padded with durable rubber eliminating the worry of scratching your paint. The velcro straps that secure the bicycles to the rack are of commercial grade. There's no second guessing that your bike will slip out of these straps. This adds a level of comfort and security knowing you won't have to check your mirrors constantly wondering if your bikes are sprawled out across the interstate. The long strap also gives you that extra sense of security knowing your bikes are not wobbling around on the rack. I hate to say it,but the bike rack will probably outlast my pickup truck! Great job people! You definitely offer a solid product at an extremely reasonable price.
