Upon reaching the destination, some vehicles may require a little extra room in the garage or parking lot and the EML-350 is there to help once again. After unloading the powered scooter carrier, a pair of platform arms can be moved into a second position allowing the platform to fold upright and reduce vehicle storage space without having to remove it from the vehicle's hitch. If the wheelchair lift needs to be transported unloaded, there are plenty of reflective safety stripes for added visibility when folded vertically, and the 49-3/8"L platform will not obstruct vehicle tail lights. The patent pending EML-350 handicap wheelchair lift secures to a 2" Class III/IV hitch receiver and wires directly to the vehicle's battery for on-demand raising and lowering of the lift platform. Power to the electric mobility lift is controlled by both an On/Off key switch to prevent battery drain, and an Up/Down toggle switch for ease of use. Power is also supplied from the vehicle separately with a 4-prong trailer light plug, to keep the license plate light illuminated anytime the vehicle's headlights are on; Certain vehicle models may need to switch headlight control to a constant setting, rather than automatic, to ensure the license plate light is working properly. Includes a 20 ft. long wiring harness with 25A breaker and a 4-prong trailer light attachment plug. If hardwiring isn't an option, the EML-350 can be powered by a portable battery pack instead (sold separately). The lift requires between 10" to 20" ground clearance, depending on hitch adapter orientation, to prevent the carrier from hitting the ground during travel and especially on inclined surfaces. Every carrier is constructed with a heavy duty reinforced steel frame in a smooth black powder-coat finish and features a high-traction platform designed for added grip on mobility device wheels.
