Economical carrier with a 2 bike capacity. Swings down allowing access to the tailgate or rear hatch of a vehicle while installed. Unique hitch adapter allows the rack to be used on class II, III, or IV hitches. Includes a one year manufacturer's warranty!
The Hitch-Mounted Bike Carrier conveniently carries 2 bicycles in class II, III, or IV hitches. This bike rack is loaded with features, such as a swing down system that allows access to the rear hatch of an SUV or wagon, or the ability to lower the tailgate of a pick up truck with the carrier installed (Removing the bicycles from the rack before lowering is highly recommended).
The distance from the hitch pin to end of the bicycle rack in the swing-down position is 49". The heavy duty bike carrier is manufactured from strong 1" steel tubing. Four rubber frame holders have layered fins and long Velcro fastening straps to ensure the bikes are secure on the carrier. Each 2 bike carrier has a specially designed hitch adapter allowing this bike carrier to be used on class II, III, & IV hitches while an integrated pinch hitch pin ensures a tight, wobble free connection with the receiver.
Purchased this two bike hitch rack for my Acura MDX rear hitch attachment. Great unit. Easy to use and at a great price. Well built for the price.
This is a great hitch mount bike carrier for the price. Installed in a snap, and will be easy to remove and store.
Price was appropriate investment for my use. Receiver mount rubber mounting thickness should be increased by 1/16 to 1/8 inch to prevent limited wobble. [a shim might be necessary for a tighter fit] but presents no safety hazard if mounted without shim, this would merely be a precaution for long distance travel. My measurements were based on utilizing a NISSAN 2" trailer hitch receiver.
