The SMC-600R motorcycle carrier has all the benefits of a trailer without taking up the space! The carrier has the ability to hold any style motorcycle up to 600 lbs right on your vehicle's Class III or greater 2" square hitch receiver. Giving the hauler its 600-lb capacity is a heavy-duty black steel frame with a rust-proof aluminum track. The aluminum track is 78-3/4" long and 8" wide with raised sides for guiding tires on the carrier. Featured at the end of the track is an integrated wheel chock to assist in stabilizing the motorcycle when securing with tie-down straps and during transport. The wheel chock has two adjustable sections for length customization to your specific transport application. The front tire stop section of the wheel chock is a steel tubular bar with two individual settings, and the rear section, with six settings, pivots to lock the front tire in place.

Included with the SMC-600R is an extra long 72" loading ramp that stores right on the carrier for quick and easy access when loading or unloading your bike. The loading ramp is 7-1/2" wide for accommodating wider sport bike tires and attaches to the carrier track via a steel pin on the end of the ramp. The ramp is placed on the passenger side of the carrier for safety from oncoming traffic. Also included with the SMC-600R motorcycle hauler is a reverse anti-tilt locking bracket which reduces carrier wobble from play in the hitch receiver. The ramp was received quickly and arrived undamaged. The assembly instructions could be better. The anti-rattle device works great. The tubes that have the tie down rings attached fit very loosely which allows the motorcycle to sway back and forth towards my trucks tailgate. I am going to add some additional flat washers to minimized the sway. The steel loading ramp is weak. It bent the first time I loaded my Suzuki DL1000 on it at 525 lbs. The carrier itself works great and has been carrying my motorcycle for over 3000 miles. I am contacting Discount Ramps in an attempt to have the loading ramp replaced. I would rank it 5 stars but due to the ramp and tie down bar issues I only give it 3 stars.
I was looking for a way to transport my sons Ninja 250 up to school and was considering renting a MC trailer and then possibly buying a trailer but then I'd have to register it and store it only to use it twice a year - up and back. Then I found the SMC600 on you tube. This was the perfect solution for transporting the bike with my Ford Explorer. The carrier is very heavy duty and easily supports the Ninja 250 which weighs about 300lbs. My truck has a OEM class I hitch so I had add a second Curt class III hitch. The carrier is manageable and I am able to install it on the truck myself however you should have two people to push the bike up onto the carrier. Make sure you get the proper length straps for your bike. If they are too long they will be difficult to ratchet down. I was able to cruise home about 300 miles with the bike secured on the carrier doing 75 mph with no problems. The carrier has a collar that secures the carrier post in the receiver of the hitch. This prevents the carrier from bouncing while moving. All in all it is the best solution i found for transporting a bike under 600 lbs and highly recommended.
The carrier is a nice product, very good tie down points, and the anti wobble plate works well. The only problem is that I had to drill out every hole where the frame bolts together to even assemble the carrier. The holes were off by probably an 1/8 inch and you couldn't run all the bolts in. After drilling all of the holes out a little it was able to be bolted together with very little binding. Everything was flush and level. I have a 2012 Suzuki DR650 ~ 370 lbs.
I received the product in 3 days and it traveled half way across the Country. When it arrived it was packed very well and I 'm really impressed with the quality of the materials that its made out of. This is a very solid carrier. I'm impressed with the craftsmanship. I loaded my newly purchased KLR 650 with a with a dry weight of 432lbs and then drove 150 trouble free miles with no issues at highway speeds. I definitely recommend always using at least 4 tie down straps and the SMC-600R carrier gives you 4 solid anchor points. I used my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel with a tongue capacity of 720lbs and the Jeep is also equipped with load leveling. You can tell its back there but I had no issues. The employee of the motorcycle dealership that helped me load and tie down, said that he has seen a lot of these but never this model. He liked the way its made and said it will be the model he purchases for his motorcycle. I had no issues during my trip. Great product! I would strongly recommend this product to a friend or anyone for that matter!!!
The SMC-600R Moto Carrier is a confidence inspiring and solid option to transport your prized motorcycle. I have a Ducati Panigale and a Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. I was nervous about using a carrier, but after putting it together, installing big it, and taking it for a test run I am confident it will make the upcoming 2,800 round trip mile journey to Austin, TX and back for the MotoGP race! No bouncing, straps stayed put (used a little electrical tape to keep the loose ends tidy), and didn't feel a difference in driving with the bike on the carrier. Excited about the purchase. Also purchased the LED turn, brake, run light with magnets from discount ramps by Towmate. Very happy I purchased the LEDS. Easy install and they look and work great! Bought This for my 03 Suzuki SV650s, to use along with my 99 Ford F150 Supercrew. Did a lot of research and weighed all of my options. This was by far one of the best investments I have made for my motorcycle. Bought it mainly to take my bike to and from my local repair shop since normally I would have to wait there while I had any kind of work done to it or figure out a way to get picked up/dropped off. Didn't realize this could also work for any work I need to have done on my truck, not to mention, great for going to out of town bike events. The packaging was adequate although there is possible bending that may have happened to mine while shipping, which can be easily solved with a hammer and a piece of wood. I would also recommend adding grip tape to the ramp and also adding a 47" 3M led light strip for braking and turning indicators that plugs into my towing harness. Both work perfectly for it. I may also add a license plate bracket or just move my plate to my rear window just in case anyone complains my tag is not visible, but for now I haven't had any issues even while being followed. All the parts I needed arrived well packaged in the box as well. If you properly adjust the front tire bracket your bike will stand securely enough to strap your bike down on your own. Also if you are careful enough and tall enough you can guide your bike onto the ramp using it's own power, which I did (with a second person there for backup as well). Too bad I can't post pictures or a video, if so I would. Thanks to Discount Ramps for the installation and assembly videos on their page and on the web...they were very helpful and made it easier to put the carrier together. I've already gotten compliments from complete strangers who saw me driving around with my bike on it. Love my carrier! It will pay for itself in no time. Everyone with a bike and a sufficient truck should have one of these!

Purchased it to carry our motorcycle cross country. Sturdy, kept bike secure. No problems in our 3,000-mile journey. A bit cumbersome to roll bike onto the ramp.
This carrier arrived quickly, and assembles just like the instructions say. I used it to mount a dirt bike, but plan to mount a street bike also in a few months. The chock functions great and is adjustable and meets what you will need. The hardware is not flimsy and does the job. I am very happy with the result !!
After much contemplation and research I finally bought this Motorcycle Hauler and was very happy to find the ease of assembly and quality of materials. It does take a bit of tinkering to get it set up just right on the back of the vehicle with the anti-sway apparatus but it all works. You might think about additional reflectors or lighting on the back of it though as if you have a larger bike it can cover your tail lights partially. I would highly recommend this product especially if you do not have storage space for a trailer or live in a state such as I do where if you tow anything you have to follow a lower speed limit. This product delivers on what it advertises.
I bought this carrier to haul a Honda Silver Wing scoter which weighs about 520lbs. on the back of my 5th wheel camper. Adjustment have to be made for the wheel chock because of the smaller front tire. I also made a rack to hold a portable wench with remote control to load the scoter. I had a 12v plug added to the back of the camper to use the wench. I also bought a magnetic base brake, tail, turn signal kit from Harbor Freight because most of your rear lights are covered when you are hauling. I just did a 200 mile trip and it worked fine. The real test is a 3700 mile trip to Sturgis, SD and back.
I bought this to bring my Yamaha FZ6R on an extended cross-country trip on the back of my Chevy Silverado. I just received it and put it together, loading my bike on it a few times to determine how to adjust the wheel chock. Pros: It seems to be very sturdy, and having the wheel chock and 4 tie-down points will give me a lot of confidence that my bike won't move around while I'm driving. (And the wheel chock does hold the bike up well enough to allow me to get the tie-downs into place.) Assembly was easy enough with the instructions and online video. And the final thing I was happy about was that the bike sits just far enough back that I can open the window on my camper shell to get into the back of the truck, only needing to move the mirror on the bike. Cons: The only issue was that I noticed that a couple pieces were bent when I pulled them out of the box. (The two tabs on one of the wheel chock pieces were bent at different angles when they should have been flat and the end of the ramp was bent - sort of folded in a little - so that the peg wasn't straight.) But with a little bending and hammering the pieces straightened out just fine and I don't think the pieces are compromised at all. So despite the bent pieces, I still give the rack 5 stars - I think it is a very good rack at a very reasonable price. Considerations: It does take 2 people to assemble the rack and load & unload a bike. In addition, the tie-down points are not as far out as you find on a trailer or truck bed, so tie-down extensions will be helpful (I'm glad I got 18 inch ones not 12 inch) and the straps will be pushing on my fairing. I haven't yet put the tie-downs on it or driven with the bike on the rack but I think it will do just fine.

Great product carries 525lb Shadow for $200 you cant build your own I did alter it a bit was much wider than needed so I cut 5" off the stinger and drilled new pin hole Amazing how much more stable it became, not that it needed to be, I was approaching its limit and concluded shortening the stinger would simply add to its strength If your thinking about it STOP just get it ordered you will be pleased and no I don't work for discount ramps Thanks Discount Ramps It also came with a stabilizer at no extra charge, others want $30-$60 extra for it Note to discount ramps tell folks it comes with the stabilizer I was surprised when it was there didn't see it in the description Thanks Again Pete
The connection still is a little loose, even with special clamp around receiver hitch. Maybe make an additional adjustable clamp to vehicle bumper or frame. Overall, good quality.
look very nice. and very handy when you are doing it by yourself. it a great product, but the only thing i wonder, there are no trailer light..just in case your motorcycle is blocking your back light of your car. watching the video, the motorcycle is blocking the lights of the truck. To improve this, might have to put some trailer light on.
I have not hauled super long distances with this yet, but on first impression it works really well. It is heavy duty and weights about 100lbs, it fits the hitch well and the ramp seems to work without problems or risk of bending, so far at least. Much easier option than trailering if you ask me.
I was somewhat dubious about how good this carrier would be when it was so inexpensive. I have to say I was amazed at how simple and quickly it was to put together. The tutorial video online was most helpful and I have to say this is an excellent product and works perfectly with my Dodge Ram and my Harley.
Nice ramp, exactly what I hoped for. Easy to assemble, particularly after watching the assembly video. High quality construction. With a little help from my wife we mounted it on our motorhome with no difficulty.

I was skeptical because the price was so cheap. I almost bought the versa haul for that very reason. Anyway i got it in the mail in 3 days and the quality was much better than i expected. Very heavy duty. Put my brand new 2015 yamaha fj-09 on it with no problems. Plus its great having the front wheel chock. Makes life so much easier. For the price it cant be beat.
I bought it to carry a Suzuki Burgman 400 on our RV. It is fairly well made, not too hard to assemble, except that I had to use a round file to make one of the bolt holes in the track line up with the frame. It was hard to load the scooter due to the height of the hitch (a longer ramp might have helped), so I also purchased a hitch drop (Item # DRH-3), which also extends the carrier far enough back for the scooter to clear the RV's spare tire. I also purchased the tie-down kit (Item # MCR-Strap), which has good solid hooks and ratchets. I like the wheel chock, although it took some trial and error to adjust it to fit the scooter tire. Another problem I had was that the scooter blocked the RV tail lights, so I installed a trailer light kit. There was no good place on the carrier to mount the lights, so I bought some 6-inch corner brackets at the hardware store and rigged the lights to the tie-down bars.

This carrier is exactly what I needed for our RV- Mini-Winnebago motor home. The carrier was easy to assemble and I even had my ten year old grandson assist with putting it together. He was able to follow the instructions and watch the online video for an easy assembly, mounting and loading . Excellent carrier for our cycle. We use the cycle for short trips while we are camping.
This is exactly what I need to mount and carry my 400 cc Yamaha Majesty. I have seen other carriers and they don't look as stable as the SMC-660R. With my back injury it makes loading and unloading very simple.
