What Sets Silver Spring Clearway Handicap Ramps Apart
Silver Spring has been a staple of the mobility industry for over 30 years, offering affordable threshold and portable wheelchair ramps engineered with quality without the high price tag. We're proud to now offer a complete modular handicap ramp line that creates accessibility for individuals looking to overcome three or more steps into their home.
The Clearway Modular Ramp line was designed with three key factors in mind:
- Easy of installation
- Configurability
- Comfort in Use
Ease of Installation
Many modular ramp lines on the market today are built with the finished design in mind, not how easy it is for their customers to correctly install them on their property. Rubber mallets, screwdrivers, a plethora of screws... We're proud to say that the struggle is minimized and we've put our customer first.
The best part is that our customers are noticing! Here is a review we recently received:
"I picked the platform and length and i was sent a kit the way i wanted. The instructions i downloaded took me thru the complete build. I am 74 today and i had no problem understanding and putting together the ramp system. The system is very solid and well built. I only called once to check on attachment of ramp to platform and i got a person to help answer my questions right away. I spent two afternoons putting it together and i could do it faster the second time now that i know how it all goes together. Again solid well designed system." - Dennis E. (purchased his ramp in August 2025)
Configurability
The Silver Spring Clearway line comes in straight and L-type models, and once installed, can easily be reconfigured if it needs to be moved to a new location or set up in a new position. The handrails are specifically designed so that you can choose whether to have a straight, left or right-side entry depending on your unique set up. The platforms and ramps are all interchangeable, so that if you need to remove a ramp section or add a platform, the pieces will work together without adapters or specialized parts.
Additionally, the height of the Clearway system is adjustable for slopes from 1:6 (individual in a scooter or wheelchair) all the way up to 1:14, which offers a gentler incline than the ADA recommended slope of 1:12. This allows you to create a safe incline that is set at your comfort level, or the manufacturer's recommended slope for the mobility device you use (see your device's user manual for information of the slope it can handle safely).
Clearway Modular Ramps come in lengths from 10' up to 24'.
Comfort in Use
The extruded aluminum ramp surface has a grooved design that catches and diverts moisture to reduce slipping in inclement weather. The raised grooves also provide additional traction for wheels, shoes and mobility devices such as walkers to ensure that the surface is as safe as possible.
A lower ramp plate at the start of the first ramp creates a really smooth transition from the ground up and onto the ramp so that there's no jarring bump when going down or up.
The two-level handrails are set at the perfect height for an individual who is walking and needs support, or someone who is using a manual wheelchair and needs a lower handrail height. The lower handrails are also great for children and grandchildren, providing an extra barrier of safety on the ramp as well as support for their little hands.
